I've sadly had little to no time to blog about my wedding which is all I've really wanted to spend my time doing. BUT for those of you who are planning weddings while also working full time, moving and still finding a way to make time for not only yourself but for your family, your friends, and what about your FIANCE too (who knew!?), I'm sure you've found it's still hard to add in some of the other little things you love too, like read or write. With only two months left until the big day, I've found myself blogging little to none (well, none), but I have finally devoted a little time to working on my new blog, Live, Love & Laugh a Lot. It's a work in progress. I've only got the 'about me' done, and it's not even really done. I haven't even gotten to create my first post yet, but I'm getting there. No worries. In the meantime, checkout the link below. This is where you can find me now. More to come soon, I promise. Enjoy! : )

Just some food for thought : )
I came across this link today. It's nice to know that others feel the same way.

If you know me well enough, you know that if I could, I would invite every single person that I've ever said a friendly hello to in my life because I learn to like everyone very quickly, and I love having so many amazing people to share my life with. I didn't think it would be as difficult as it would be to make the wedding guest list. I wish that this step in the wedding planning process could be easier than what it may seem to be. What I do know for sure is that Tim and I want to spend this day surrounded by all of our loved ones, all of our family and closest friends who love and care about us just as much as we care about them. I hope everyone understands and respects this too and will know just what it's like when planning your wedding one day. : )

Bridesmaids Dresses...Check!!
One of the most difficult things in this wedding process thus far has been picking out the bridesmaids dresses. One of my biggest problems in life is that I always know exactly what I want, and I don't give up until I find it. I wanted everybody to be able to choose the dress that was right for them, and that wasn't an option most places that I looked. Most places had no interest in actually helping me with anything other than my wedding dress (which, by the way, I got to "meet my gown" last week, and I absolutely LOVE it ten times more than I even did the day I picked it out!!! :) ), and had the bridesmaids dresses shoved somewhere back in a corner. I think that the bridesmaids dresses are much more than 'corner of the dress store - worthy.' I so thankfully discovered Bella Bridesmaid, and I suggest it to every bride out there. After months of searching I finally came across the website which told me that the franchise was of course in every big city other than St. Louis. Perfect. And typical. BUT I find that the St. Louis location is COMING SOON!!! In vast excitement I find the phone number and call right away to find out that the store was opening October 16...just in time. I made an appointment right away, and I was the very first client for this new Bella Bridesmaid store owner. She is absolutely incredible. Bella Bridesmaid offers nothing other than bridesmaids dresses for all different tastes as well as accessories. Just what a bride needs. It's about time St. Louis ends up with something like this. From the moment my Mom and I stepped foot in this boutique I knew this was exactly what I had been looking for all along. My bridesmaids came in town over the weekend, and we all made a trip together to Bella Bridesmaids for everyone to pick out their dresses and it was so much fun! I had a couple of girls come early, and there are two more girls coming next week since it was difficult to find a time that everybody could come at once, but by the end of this week all of the orders for the bridesmaids dresses will be in! Another big step closer, and I feel so accomplished now that those have been chosen! Only 216 days away : )

Planning planning annnnnd planning
Planning is consuming my life enough that I have no time to keep up with either of my blogs!! We've already gotten SO much done, and I can't believe that we are already only 7 months away!! I think part of the reason this blog is so difficult for me is because there is so much concerning our wedding that I want so badly to share, yet I don't want to just yet because I don't want to give every aspect of the day away until it's here! So for now...I'll probably just give the bare minimum...or thoughts and ideas of things that I love, but not specifically what I will be doing. For now...here are some of our engagement pictures that we had done this summer by Fisher Photography who will also be our wedding photographer. She is AMAZING!!! I highly recommend her. She is young and fun and will do just what you want her to do, and she knows all the great places to photograph in the St. Charles area.
The first three pics are my favorite. Our photographer even got some awesome canvases made out of them. So neat!! We're using one of our engagement pictures for our Save the Dates...which I will show you as soon as we get them sent out within the next two weeks!!
Enjoy!! : )

Location location location
Picking the location of every aspect of the wedding is more difficult than I thought it would be. When you think of a wedding, you probably think of two things (maybe only one depending on the type of person you are): The wedding ceremony. The reception. Well, first off, it's hard enough selecting the two places that are going to be available on the same exact date during times that work with one another. Then, when it comes to the reception itself, you have to think about how close or far it is in relation to the ceremony site, what time the ceremony will be and whether it will give enough time or too much time for the guests in between while still giving the wedding party enough time for wedding photos (a must for many wedding parties these days...yes, ours too!!), a place for guests to stay following the wedding, and transportation following the wedding if necessary, especially if alcohol is involved (my how all things risk management related even come into play after college. Thank you Greek Life for keeping us safe!:) ). During the whole process we had gone back and forth on so many things. First thing was the date. We had a few dates in mind that were significant to us, although not all of them worked based on other family engagements, etc. so that was the first obstacle. We knew for a fact, though, that we really wanted a Summer wedding, and what's more perfect than a June wedding anyway!? We decided on June 11, 2011...Every time the clock strikes 11:11 we make a wish : ) in turn making this date even more perfect, and it just so happened that places actually were not booked on this date, believe it or not. Don't get me wrong, a lot of places were, but the places that we really wanted (and got!) magically were not! We chose to have our wedding at Third Baptist Church on Grand (right across from the Fabulous Fox Theater). This church is so beautiful with a lot of history in a neat location convenient for both our guests and to our reception site, and most importantly, my Grandfather, who is a Baptist Minister, will be able to conduct the ceremony for us at this church. That was one of the most important aspects of finding the perfect location because I wanted more than anything for my Grandpa to marry us. I have honestly dreamt of it since I was a little girl. He has married so many people in our family, including my Mom and Dad, and he will be marrying my cousin two weeks before our wedding in ATL! We had really considered having our ceremony outdoors and searched a lot of venues including the Botanical Gardens and Forest Park. The thought of an outdoor wedding to me would be so beautiful and perfect, but it's just too risky for the amount of time and money being spent for such an important day. In fact, the day after we were really considering booking MoBo's there was a major rain storm the entire day. Not one of those that lasts a half hour and it's sunny after that...this lasted the entire day. I took that as a sign that maybe it wasn't the best idea to plan an outdoor wedding. On top of that, we've got heat. June can definitely be a hot month, and especially based on how hot this Summer has been, with excessive heat warnings every other day, it seemed best to find some place indoors. Tim can't handle the heat as it is! Therefore, we settled on Third Baptist Church, and I am so happy we did : ) It even has a beautiful bride's room for all the girls to get ready in before the ceremony. Every aspect of it seems so perfect : )
As for our venue, we did a lot of the same going back and forth on so many different places. We wanted to feel everything out and weigh all our options before deciding on one thing because this is such a big and important decision! After much thought, we knew that we wanted our location to be in downtown St. Louis (again with the church too), and we really wanted to reception to take place at a hotel in hopes of everyone staying after the reception. It is likely that if we were to not have it in a hotel our guests would be staying in a hotel nearby which means we would also have to consider transportation and what not, and me being the person I am, I would be wondering if everyone made it to their destination safely in the end of the night. I don't want to be worrying about such things on my wedding day therefore a hotel seemed like the perfect solution, and I hope this means more people will be staying. I want people to have so much fun that they just have to stay : ) We decided on The Westin St. Louis which is located directly across from Busch Stadium. It. Is. AMAZING. (Yes, I may be slightly biased because I am now employed at the Westin as well :) ) But really... I am truly in love with what we have chosen. The hotel itself is built in an old warehouse and everything inside is so new and modern and trendy. There is a great walkway for our guests to walk down in order to enter into the cocktail reception area which will then lead into the Promenade Ballroom. The ballroom itself consists of striped carpet flooring, wooden pillars in the middle of the room, and exposed ducts and brick (my absolute favorite). It has that lofty feel, and it's just us. Hands down we knew it was the place we wanted to be.
Picking out the date and where we planned to actually have the ceremony and reception itself were definitely two of the hardest parts of the planning process thus far, and these are some of the most important decisions to be made...aside from first finding the man of my dreams to marry of course : ) I am so happy we got this settled so early on in the planning process. So many people made comments about us starting so soon after getting engaged, but you'll figure it out once you get married too...and for those of you who are current brides to be or recently married, I know you definitely understand...If you want the wedding to be everything you want when you want, where you want, and how you want it, you've got to start now. The sooner the better. So many of the places I have contacted are actually booked through 2012 believe it or not. I feel lucky that we've gotten everything we've wanted so far. I couldn't be happier. I'm just so anxious to see how everything turns out in the end. We're already down to about 300 days. Not much longer until the day of my dreams comes true : )
In the meantime, happy planning! More details to follow soon! We've gotten lots more done already in the process...I just need to get to sorting everything out! Best wishes to all those in the wedding world! : )

Pink, Yellow and Orange
Based on the title of this blog, I'm sure you've already come to the assumption that my wedding colors are pink, yellow and orange. You are right my friends : ) I've always had so many different wedding colors and ideas in my head, but once it came time to really think about it, I've come to the realization that Tim and I are bright and fun people, and what's more than fitting of our big day than bright and fun colors!? These colors couldn't be more perfect for us! When describing these colors, we've been going with something more along the lines of citrus, tangerine and raspberry. I feel like that puts a more vivid image in your head. We're not talking light pastels here...again, we want everything to be bright and fun! But mainly as accents with everything else being a crisp black and white, that way we don't get too birthday party-ish, but still classy. That's the best way to describe our overall look and feel of the wedding is none other than classy yet fun. : ) With a little bit of a modern/contemporary vibe thrown in as well. That's just us, and this wedding will certainly describe us well : ) Here have been some of my color and design inspirations since day one: Feel free to tell me what you think! Hope you like! Regardless, we love, and I guess that's all that matters right?! I can't wait to see how everything comes together! Like I said, I want to plan big events someday...what better way to start than with a wedding of my own?! : )

The time in my life I've been waiting for is finally here
Well, here I am 3 months after becoming engaged and finally having a free second or two in my life to start my wedding blog! I've been wanting to start this since day one of being engaged, yet I've been so busy living every aspect of my life (read my other blog POSTGRAD if you're interested in knowing more about that too!) that I've hardly had time to think about starting my wedding blog, but here I am!
So, about me. I'm Kasey, a recent graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Mass Communication - Public Relations as well as a minor in Fashion Merchandising...and further emphasis in Hospitality and meeting and event planning and management. Overall, I hope to be planning fabulous events and traveling the world some day : ) Again, read POSTGRAD and you will learn ALL about my journey and that aspect of my life.
My fiance is Tim, and he is the most amazing man in the world and would literally do anything for me. I know everyone says that about their boyfriend/fiance/husband, but really : ) I could not ask for anything more. Tim and I have been dating for over 5 years. We met in high school and have been together since then throughout college and some of the greatest times in our lives. Tim and I have a crazy little puppy, Bentley, and are searching for a place to call our home : ) Tim and I had been talking about engagement and knew that we wanted to get married, but we wanted to wait until the time was right. Tim chose the perfect time to ask me to marry him while we were in Chicago early this Summer right after we graduated from college and while we were also celebrating our five year anniversary. I could not have been more surprised or excited for the time to finally come. And after we were officially engaged, I loved that I could finally really talk about all things wedding! (and pull out my stack of wedding magazines that I had sitting in my closest :) ... I did say that I wanted to plan events some day. I have been looking at these things forever!). And I couldn't be more excited to know that I would officially be spending the rest of my life with the love of my life!! : ) You can read lots more about Tim and I, our wedding party, our engagement, our wedding festivities...everything on our amazing website made just by the groom! He spent a lot of time on it, and it looks great! Check it out at www.steffenslucaswedding.com, and feel free to write in our guest book!!
I will continue to keep you all updated on all aspects of the wedding! We've done a LOT already, knowing that within the next few months we would likely be getting busy with our lives and real jobs so we've gotten a lot accomplished thus far! I will update you on everything we've done so far, my thoughts, ideas and inspirations and the journey along the way!!
This is the time in almost every girl's life that she looks forward to, and I couldn't be more excited to be able to experience it with my best friend who is my fiance : ) And of course my amazing Mom and family and wonderful bridesmaids. We will be getting married on June 11, 2011. Less than a year from now, and I could not be any more excited!
Happy wedding planning!! : )
